Giclée prints that we provide
All giclée prints are colour balanced to match the originals as much as technically possible, They are made using the highest quality archival media and pigmented inks. The prints are made using materials rated by the manufacturers to resist fading and deterioration for up to 200 years.
Four types of giclée prints are
available:
1. Water resistant canvas (Canvas)
2. Textured water colour paper (WC)
3. Glossy giclée print on photo paper (Print)
4. Individual Gift cards (Card)
5. Gift card sets.
Canvas
Heavy, archival, water resistant canvas is used. The prints are coated to provide some mechanical protection and to ensure longevity by filtering out ultraviolet light.
Prints have a 2" border around the image. A mirrored copy of the edge of the image is placed in the first inch of the border. The print may then be displayed without a frame or in a shadow box as the image will appear to extend around the edge of a 3/4" thick canvas stretcher. This feature is only available from us. On request, the feature is also available for thicker 2" gallery wrap stretchers.
To minimize shipping cost and possible damage, canvas prints are shipped, rolled in a secure shipping tube. They are then place on a stretcher bars by your local frame shop. On request, and at slightly increased cost, we will stretch prints before shipping.
Textured water colour paper (WC)
Prints are made on extra heavy, archival textured paper. A 2" white border surrounds the image. Wider borders, and if desired in different colours, are also available upon request. Unlike a canvas print that is coated with a UV filter, the longevity of these prints is sustained if the print is framed under glass.
As the protective packaging required for water colour prints increases the size and weight of the shipment, packing and shipping costs are a little more expensive than for canvas prints.
Glossy giclée print on photo paper (Photo)
These prints are made with archival pigmented ink on high quality glossy photo paper. Like water colour prints, the archival quality is sustained by framing under glass.
The maximum dimensions for these prints is 8"x10". To preserve the proportions of an image, one of these dimensions may be reduced in the printed image.
Individual Gift cards
Individual Gift cards are approximately 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and are provided with envelopes. Each has a paper insert so that a message may be included and the card reused or the image framed. The image dimensions are up to 3" x 5" is size. The image size may be less in order to preserve proportions.
Lithograph prints
These are less expensive and are unlikely to show fading or deterioration before 30 years. Like all images, the longevity depends on whether or not the image is stored in direct sunlight, the presence of smoke, and/or oxidizing gases.
Reasonably priced framing and stretching services are available upon request.
